Hi everyone ! 🙂
I come back today with a new collection of drawing ideas ! This time, we will discover panda drawing ideas. Some are really easy, and some a bit less.
In this collection, you will see two different ways of drawing pandas : one I call “chubby panda“, close to the actual anatomy of a panda, but stylized. The other one is a chibi panda, where the head to body ratio is 1:1, making the panda look extremely adorable. Whether you prefer one or the other, I’m sure you can find some drawing ideas that will work for you! 🙂
Drawing a Panda ?
A quick word before starting, I want to write a note about the panda’s coloring.
The head of the panda is black and white.
- The ears are black
- Black oval shapes circle the eyes
- The legs are black
- The shoulders are black
- The rest of the body is white
Now let’s jump into it and discover cute and easy panda drawing ideas !
1. Simple Chubby Panda
Let’s start off with a chubby panda sitting on the floor. Chubby pandas are so cute, aren’t they ? Sometimes, drawing them this way makes them appear funnier and more cute than the chibi version. This one is tilting its head slightly, making it even more adorable.
2. Chibi Panda Sitting
As I wrote in the introduction, we will discover two kinds of panda drawings : the chubby panda, and the chibi panda.
This one is a chibi panda. The head is bigger than the body, giving it a cuter look. When you want to give a cute look to a drawing of a person or an animal, play around with the head to body ratio !
3. Two Pandas
Two pandas who seem to be curious about a little bamboo stick. I used negative space around the legs to define the shapes. You can do that by using an eraser, a white pen, or just by leaving blank spaces where you see it fit. 🙂
4. Flying Panda
This drawing idea represents a panda flying – or jumping. I can’t imagine a panda jumping, but if it did, I imagine it would look cute. 🙂
5. Panda Sleeping
Let’s now draw a panda taking a good rest. I always imagine pandas sleeping, a bit like Pokémon’s Snorlax or Totoro.
6. Panda in the Bath
Have you ever seen a panda taking a bath ? Well, you can doodle one now ! Try to copy this whimsical little doodle of a panda taking a bath! 🙂 Start by drawing the bath, and then the panda. You can erase the overlapping parts when you’re done!
7. Panda on All Fours
This panda is the only panda walking on all four that I have included in the list. I figured I should at least doodle one like this!
8. Panda Waving with Bamboo Stick
A panda waving with a little bamboo stick. Isn’t it cute ? Whether it’s waving hello or goodbye, it’s a easy drawing idea you can try in your sketchbook!
9. Panda Keyring
A cute and whimsical panda keyring. I added two little wings to it! I wanted to draw a mix of Kerobero from Card Captor Sakura and a panda. I really love Kerobero and as soon as I can, I try to include him in my doodles 🙄:)
10. Chibi Panda Eating Bamboo
Another cute chibi panda. This one is eating bamboo. This chibi panda uses softer colors. This time, I’m not playing around with the white to define things better, I’m just playing around with grey, dark grey, and black. It gives the drawing a soft look. 🙂
11. Panda Ice Cream
Now let’s draw a very simple panda ice cream. Start by drawing a regular ice cream, then add the details of the panda : two little ears, the eyes, nose and mouth !
12. Panda Double Ice Cream
A double panda ice cream with a bunny on top! Do you reckon it tastes good ? I’m not sure it does, but it for sure is cute. I like mixing cute objects or food with animals. You can create about everything you want this way!
This ice cream is a little more complex than the one we drew previously, so if you want to challenge yourself a little, try out this one!
13. Panda with Bamboo
This panda is looking at a very thick bamboo. Did you know that the only plant that a panda can digest well is the bamboo ?
14. Upset Panda
This panda looks quite upset. It seems like the panda is protecting a bamboo stick. I used a bit of negative space around the upper legs to define them and show that they are holding on to the bamboo.
15. Panda Thinking
This panda looks like he’s thinking about something. The panda has a lot of black colored parts to its body : the ears, around the eyes, the arms… so sometimes you have to play with negative space to make the drawing clear. In this case, you can see I used to eraser to define the arms, for example.
16. Panda Going Over Wall
Another drawing idea for pandas, and another kind of climbing ! This time, the panda is going over a wall. I imagine the panda will fall once truly reaching the top of it.
17. Panda Eating Bamboo
Another panda eating bamboo. This one is fairly easy to draw, give it a try!
18. Confused Panda
This big panda is questioning itself. I drew this thinking of the memes you can find about panda moms. They’re often losing their baby, or getting sartled by their babies. I find it so cute. Anyway, it’s a cute whimsical panda drawing idea you can try !
19. Panda Leaning On Surface
This drawing represents a panda leaning over a surface. You can make this surface anything you want! A desk, for example. If you’re struggling with the whole body of the panda, this drawing is a good one to try!
20. Panda Climbing
Now, let’s draw a panda climbing a surface. You can make this surface anything you want ! A tree, for example 🙂
21. Panda in a Cup
This drawing idea is simple : a cute little panda in a teacup. Start by drawing the teacup. When you’re done with it, you can draw the pandas head and paws. If you drew the cup completely, they will overlap, and your eraser will come in handy !
22. Panda on the Computer
This little panda is working on its computer. Quite a nice pose to try and doodle ! I would suggest you start drawing the laptop first. The perspective of it can be a little tricky, so observe the drawing well! Once you’re done drawing the computer, the panda will be easy 🙂
23. Happy Panda Jumping
A cute and happy chibi panda. It seems like it’s jumping, all four legs are spread in the air.
24. Cute Chibi Panda
This cute chibi panda drawing idea might be my favorite drawing idea on this list. I like them all, but this one seems so innocent and cute! Drawing the eyes like this makes the panda look so expressive.
To draw this kind of eye, start by drawing a round or oval shape, and fill it with black. Then, take a small eraser, or a white pen, and draw a little moon crescent in the black shape! 🙂 You can also see this kind of cute eye style in the second panda drawing idea of this list.
25. Panda with an Apple
Do pandas eat apples ? They probably don’t, but this one sure seems to like it. I added some colors to make the intent clear. If you don’t have color markers or pencils, you can also use shades of grey to make the drawing more clear!
26. Panda in a Box
This time, let’s draw a panda in a box. I’m not sure we could find a cardboard box that can hold a panda realistically, but that’s the nice things about doodles, right ? Start by drawing the box, and then follow with the panda. 🙂
27. Panda and Balloon
Another easy drawing idea is to draw a panda hanging to a balloon! It’s a nice addition to a birthday card, for example. Drawing the head tilted will make it look like the panda is actually flying !
28. Little Panda Sleeping
Another sleeping panda. This time, it looks like a baby panda. I didn’t draw the black oval shapes around the eyes, but you can do it if you wish to, of course.
29. Panda Rolling
This cute little panda is either falling or rolling on the floor – it’s up to you! I added some additional colors to this one, specifically to the paws. If you don’t want to use negative space to define the legs, you can draw the paw pads with pink color. It works as well!
30. Panda’s Back
The easiest way to draw a panda ? Draw the back of the panda ! There is not much to say about it besides the fact that it’s probably the easiest panda drawing idea on this list !
31. Chibi Panda with Bamboo
A cute chibi panda with a bamboo stick. This little panda seems happy to have found food for the next meal!
32. Panda Laying with Bamboo
And lastly, let’s draw a panda lying down with a bamboo stick in its paw. I oddly relate well to this drawing, personally!
Pandas are said to be one of the laziest creatures. Maybe I was a panda in another life! 🙂
Wrap up
And that’s it for cute and easy panda drawing ideas! I hope you liked, and I hope you can find some ideas and inspiration for your next doodles. 🙂
Do you prefer chubby panda style or chibi panda style ? For my part, I like them both, and I use them both for different purposes!
