Most Anticipated Cozy Games in 2025

Reviver (Jan 9)

PC Puzzle Story Rich

Reviver is a narrative puzzle game that focuses on love and choices. You’ll follow the lives of two main protagonists across different stages and reflect on how their interactions and decisions shape their destinies.

The game features over 50 puzzles and mini-games intertwined with the story, helping you uncover secrets and clues. Beautiful hand-drawn animations and interactive storytelling create a deeply emotional experience.

I love choice-based games where your decisions truly matter, and this one seems to deliver that in a meaningful way. If you’re intrigued, there’s a demo available on Steam, so don’t miss out.

Terrarium (Jan 10)

PC Sandbox Building

In 2024, we saw lots of adorable sandbox-style decorating games (amongst which Tiny Glade !), and number two on the list is of a similar style. Let’s check out Terrarium.

Terrarium lets you create your own diorama in a glass bottle! And with grid-free building mechanics, we’ll have lots of decorating freedom. The game features over 100 items to play with, from animals to plants—even a lighthouse.

It looks very promising, and I love the idea of decorating something unique like this glass bottle. If feels like we can come up with so many ideas! I’ve loved Tiny Glade, so I will definitely give this one a try as well.

Terrarium will release on January 10th on PC.

Dreaming Isles (Jan 13)

PC Farming sim

At number three, we have Dreaming Isles, a pixel-art farming life simulator with a unique twist.

In Dreaming Isles, you play as a lost mariner stranded on a desolate island with an abandoned farm. As you rebuild your life, you’ll uncover turmoil between warring pirates.

Not only will you look after your farm, but you’ll also set sail on your own boat, adding a fresh twist to the farming sim genre. There are also mini-games, and romance is possible with the locals.

I love farming sims, but they can sometimes feel repetitive. This game’s fresh approach, with sailing and pirate-themed adventures, is something I’m looking forward to. Plus, the developer has promised free story updates in the future, which makes it even more appealing.

Dreaming Isles releases on January 13th on Steam, and it’s even suitable for Steam Deck!

Aloft (Jan 15)

PC Survival Crafting

Coming up next, we have Aloft, releasing on January 15th!

This one is one of the cozy games I’m most excited about ! Aloft is a survival sandbox game with a co-op mode for up to eight players. Instead of surviving on land, you’ll explore floating islands using a flying ship. Collect resources, cook, craft tools, and protect islands from corrupting mushroom creatures.

This game looks very promising, and I love the idea of sharing this gameplay with friends! For my part, I’ll force my partner playing with me for sure. I just can’t wait!

Skyeisle Cube (Jan 15)

PC Puzzle

Next up, let’s check out Skyeisle Cube, coming out on January 15th.

Skyeisle Cube blends puzzle-solving with sculpting as players uncover hidden shapes by removing colorful blocks. With relaxing visuals and intuitive mechanics, this game offers a calming yet engaging experience.

Fans of cozy creative games like Little to the Left or decorative builders will adore this unique puzzle game.

Harvest Hills (Jan 16)

PC Farming sim

Harvest Hills is a low-poly farming sim that feels like a warm hug. I love the color palette of that game. In Harvest Hill, you’ll plant crops, raise livestock, and use crafting machines to make homemade goods to sell at the farmers’ market. As you earn money, you can upgrade and expand your farm. Typical of a farming game, right ?

While it doesn’t introduce groundbreaking mechanics, sometimes you just want a classic farming experience, and this game seems to deliver that perfectly. It’s a cozy escape for anyone who loves the slower pace of farm life. I’ll see if I do try this one when it comes out, I’m not sure yet!

The Road to Harvest (Jan 16)

PC Cooking sim Story rich

On January 16th, embark on a culinary adventure in The Road to Harvest! You’ll collect ingredients, trade with locals, and spread joy through food.

Featuring a real-world map and hand-drawn visuals, the game highlights global cuisines and cultural diversity. I haven’t seen many people talking about this game, but I think it’s worth a look! Since we don’t have many visuals of the gameplay, you might wanna wait for people to post videos on YouTube to see if you would like it.

But I think this story-driven management game is perfect for fans of cooking sims!

Skystead Ranch (Jan 17)

PC Adventure Creature Collector

On January 17th, Skystead Ranch will release.

In Skystead Ranch, you’ll turn a desolate floating island into a haven for adorable creatures called Skylights. By learning their likes and dislikes, you can create the perfect environment for them. You’ll also take on projects like building houses and bridges.

The concept is really sweet, and I think this could be a nice game ! While the graphics aren’t my favorite, the gameplay sounds like a lot of fun. If you enjoy creature care / collecting and cozy construction, this might be worth checking out.

Magic Inn (Jan 20)

PC Life sim Management Cooking

Next up, we have Magic Inn, releasing on January 20th in Early Access.

Magic Inn puts you in charge of a struggling inn. You’ll manage daily tasks, customize rooms, and build relationships with guests and merchants. There’s a magical twist, too, and some of your customers might be ghosts!

I’m excited about this one as well, I love the magical twist, as well as the visuals in general.

Edit, January 20 : The game has been pushed back to April 2025!

Border Town (Jan 23)

PC Adventure Sandbox

On January 23rd, we’ll see Border Town, an open-world RPG by a solo developer.

In Border Town, you’ll rebuild a ruined area after an orc invasion by constructing buildings, raising animals, and gathering resources. There’s also exploration and light combat to keep things interesting.

I’m intrigued by this one because it mixes cozy elements with RPG gameplay. It’s always inspiring to see what solo developers can create, and I can’t wait to dive into this world.

Cuisineer (Jan 28 on consoles)

PC Switch PS 5 Xbox Action Roguelike Cooking

Cuisineer, launching on January 28th, is a roguelike café management game.

It puts you in the role of Pom, an adventurer gathering ingredients in dungeons to pay off her family’s debt. With over 100 recipes, quirky monsters, and customizable restaurants, it’s an irresistible treat for fans of games like Moonlighter. You’ll forage for ingredients in dungeons and battle quirky monsters with your trusty spatula to create dishes for your restaurant.

I’ve played this on PC, and it’s such a fun, charming experience. (I love the visuals of the game) I’m thrilled it’s coming to consoles—it’s the perfect game to enjoy on a lazy afternoon.

Strange Alchemy (Jan 29)

PC Card Game Strategy

Strange Alchemy is a light deck-building game where you play as an alchemist searching for a cure to a fatal illness. You’ll use cards to explore a mysterious valley, gather ingredients, and craft potions in hopes of finding a cure. A lot of people don’t find deck building games cozy, but I personally do!

Hello Kitty Island Adventure (Jan 30)

iOs PC Switch PS 4 & 5 Adventure Life sim

Hello Kitty Island Adventure, releasing on January 30th, started as a mobile game and is finally coming to PC and Switch. It is already available on Apple Arcade, if you haven’t tried yet ! You’ll explore a vibrant open world, complete quests, and build friendships with Hello Kitty and her friends.

I’ve played a lot of this on my iPhone, and I just can’t wait to see it on other platforms. The decorating, puzzles, and gardening make it a cozy, feel-good game that Animal Crossing fans will love.

Jumping Jazz Cats (Jan 31)

PC Multiplayer Party Game

Last one on the list coming on the last day of January, is Jumping Jazz Cats!

Gather your friends for a cat-themed party in Jumping Jazz Cats. This multiplayer platformer features adorable cat characters competing in mini-games set in a whimsical mansion. It might not be the chillest game of the list, but it’s definitely one you’ll have a lot of fun playing with your friends on!

Whether you’re gliding down stair rails or bouncing off cushions, it’s a purr-fect game for group fun.

Wrap Up

And that’s it for the month of January ! There might be games that I skipped (not intentionally) but these are the ones that caught my eye the most. Are there games you’re excited about for this month or start of 2025 ?
