Lately I’ve been into drawing chibis on my pages. So of course, I had to create an article about it ! In this article, we’ll discover around 30 cute and easy chibi girl drawing ideas that you can get inspiration from and copy. Some of them are very easy, while others are a bit more complicated.
What is a Chibi ?
Chibi is a Japanese term often used to describe a specific art style characterized by small, exaggerated, and adorable features. It typically depicts characters with oversized heads, tiny bodies, and simplified details, giving them a cute, cartoonish appearance.
This style is commonly seen in anime, manga, and fan art, where it’s used to make characters look playful, funny, or endearing. Chibi drawings often emphasize emotions with expressive facial features, making them perfect for portraying humor or lighthearted moments.
The word “chibi” itself loosely translates to “small” or “tiny” in Japanese, and its charm lies in its ability to take even serious characters and make them irresistibly cute.
There are various ways of drawing chibis, and each of them come with their own proportions.
Explanation Drawing by Revefesti
In this collection, we will discover different chibis with different propotions ! I won’t be making long descriptions over my drawings because most of them are very self explanatory and look alike 🙂
1. Simple
Let’s start up with a simple chibi girl standing with her arms spread. She’s wearing a cute dress, which you can change easily!
2. Arms Crossed
Another simple chibi girl, but this time we’ll cross her arms in front of her chest.
3. Smiling Half Body
This one is a cute chibi doodle you can draw easily in your journal whenever you want to add a reaction to something !
4. Mini Chibi Doll
Next up, probably the simplest chibi you can draw : a 2 head chibi.
5. Sitting Chibi
This one’s position will be a little harder to draw, but just take your time. 🙂
6. Little Lady
This one was inspired by Misa from Death Note, a manga/anime I liked when I was younger. It looks less like a chibi because the proportions are closer to human than the others, but I personally still kinda consider this a chibi, to be honest.
7. Witch
This witch chibi is one of the bigger chibis, with a ratio of 3 heads! You can make it a smaller chibi by giving her a smaller body easily.
8. Sakura Chibi
Sakura is my all time favorite character. She brings me so many fond memories of when I was watching Card Captor Sakura as a child. If you want more drawings like this, check this article!
She’s harder to draw because of the amount of details, but I’m sure you can do it!
9. Mushroom Princess
Here is another cute chibi. Even though the proportions are not very chibi like, it’s also hard to tell where is the body and where is the mushroom, so I count it as a chibi!
10. Mini Sakura
Again, if you like Sakura, there is a more simple version of a Sakura Chibi you can try.
11. Sitting Chibi
Another sitting chibi with a slightly different position. 🙂
12. Simple Chibi
This one comes with a little explanation you can try following to draw a very easy chibi!
13. Laying Chibi
If you want to represent a nap in your journal or a tiring day, you can also draw a cute chibi sleeping!
14. Happy Sleeping
Another cute sleeping chibi drawing idea, but this one looks quite happy!
15. Running Chibi
Let’s add a bit of movement with this chibi running ! It looks difficult but is actually way easier to draw than it looks.
16. Simply Standing
Let’s draw another chibi standing with a tad more complicated outfit this time.
17. 2 Heads Cutie
If you like the very tiny proportions, this is a cute 2 heads chibi you can try drawing~
18. Idol Chibi
This one is one of the most complicated ones of this collection, with the leg up in the air and the arms spread. I wanted to make it look like an idol !
19. Sitting Chibi
Another sitting chibi, another position !
20. Sleeping
Andddd another sleeping chibi in another position as well.
21. Walking
A relatively tall 3 head chibi walking around
22. Sitting + Sleeping
Again another sitting position, and this one is my favorite. It looks so relaxed and is actually easier to draw than it looks.
23. Colored Chibi
Another 3 head chibi but in another style. You can see I drew a larger lower body versus a very tiny upper body. You can play around with proportions in this way as well!
24. Butterfly Chibi
A little bit of fantasy added to this collection by drawing this Butterfly chibi girl (or is it a fairy?)
25. Cute Trio
Are these triplets, or is it the same chibi in different positions? In any case, isn’t it a super cute drawing to try ?
26. Butterfly Chibi
Another butterfly chibi girl, who can not speak!
27. Sheep Chibi
A cute sheep chibi girl standing on some sort of plushie
28. Jellyfish Chibi
And this is the last chibi drawing for this collection ! I love coloring with watercolors and this is one of my many tries at it with this cute jellyfish chibi girl.
Wrap Up
And that’s it for this collection of chibi girls ! Did you like it ? I really enjoyed drawing them all.
Maybe next time I can focus on chibi boys, but you can also make requests and I can try to honor them to the best of my ability~
