Hello there! ♥
As you might’ve noticed, I love dragons! Whether it’s in fantasy books, games, or movies, there’s just something about these majestic creatures that captures my imagination. I also love doodling them, and I’ve drawn tons of dragons for my easy dragon drawing collection on the blog.

The coolest thing about dragons is that they don’t exist (unfortunately), which means there’s no limit to how they can look! Some are fierce with giant wings, others are small and chubby, and some have long, elegant bodies that twist through the air like they belong in an ancient legend. You can really let your creativity run wild when making them!
Since I’ve been obsessed with dragons for so long, I wanted to see what kind of free dragon amigurumi patterns were out there. So, I went on a little hunt to find the best ones! Some are extra cute, some are quite famous (hello Toothless, Haku & cie!), some look straight out of a fantasy novel, and all of them are perfect for crochet lovers who want to bring their own dragon to life!
Sleeping Dragon

Okay, starting off with a super cute one. This tiny sleeping dragon is just too precious. Look at how perfectly it curls up in the palm of your hand! The soft, warm colors and those tiny horns make it extra charming. If you’re looking for a free amigurumi dragon pattern that’s quick, cute, and giftable, this one’s a must-try! I would love to have one on my desk. (pdf file free pattern)

Dark Charizard Amigurumi

How cool is this Charizard? It’s not easy to find Charizard Pokémon patterns because, let’s be honest, it’s really not an easy dragon to crochet, lol. But this one? It’s so well made, and the explanations are actually clear and super helpful. Look at the details on the face! If you’re up for a challenge, this free amigurumi pattern is a dream for Pokémon fans who love crochet! (YouTube video free pattern)

Eastern Dragon

This little guy looks straight out of a fantasy story! The long, thin body, the bright colors, and those sparkly dragon eyes are really a vibe. (pdf file free pattern)

Baby Dragon Amigurumi

I love dragons when they’re laying down. They look so cute. And this one is no exception. I probably would change the colors if I were to make this one because, but I think this pattern is just super cute. (pdf file free pattern)

Chibi Haku Amigurumi

This plushie version of Haku is just the definition of cuteness. Made with plush yarn, it looks like the perfect dragon pillow buddy, doesn’t it? The color choice is spot on, giving the exact vibe Haku should give off. If you’re looking for a free pattern of Haku, this one is definitely one to check out and try! This one is another take on the famous Chinese dragon. It’s quite stylized, and super small. If you’re intermediate at crocheting, this one won’t take super long too make. And if you’re into Asian-style dragons, I think this one can be a great choice for your next project! (pdf file free pattern)

This little pink dragon looks like she belongs in a fairytale! In the YouTube video, the creator works on the dragon with another color scheme, but you can choose the colors you prefer. I actually prefer the version she ends up with in the video personally! (YouTube video free pattern)

Detailed Haku

Okay, that’s an impressive one, let’s be honest. This Haku-inspired dragon is just breathtaking. The long, elegant body, the soft blue fur along its back.. It looks like it came straight out of Spirited Away! This one is definitely a more detailed project, but the result is SO worth it. Imagine this on your shelf, it looks like expensive merch lol (free pdf file pattern)

Charizard Amigurumi

Okay, last one for now: another Charizard! And this one is literally on fire. The way they did the flames on its tail and hands is super cool. The embroidered eyes also make a huge difference, giving it that super expressive look. Trust me, the end project definitely looks cooler than the picture you see above. If you want to crochet a dragon and love Pokémon, give this one a look! (YouTube video pattern)
