30+ Cute and Easy Bird Drawing Ideas

Hello everyone!

I recently drew and posted some duck drawing ideas, and I wanted to explore other birds more generally. So, Iā€™m back with another easy drawing idea collection: birds! šŸ¦ā€ā¬› This time, I drew a bunch of them. Some easily identifiable, like chickens or flamingos, and some more abstract. To be honest, Iā€™m not very knowledgeable about birds!

If you want to see more ducks, you can check out this article as well.

Now, letā€™s dive into some bird drawing ideas!

Love Birds

Letā€™s start with some lovebirds. Valentineā€™s Day wasnā€™t long ago, and I felt like drawing a couple of birds together!

The first drawing idea features two birds on a tree branch. Theyā€™re very close together, almost hugging in some way. Birds donā€™t have arms, so I guess this is what you could picture as a ā€œbird hug.ā€ Arenā€™t they cute?

The second drawing is even simpler and cuter. It also shows two birds on a branch, but they look smaller. I originally wanted to draw sparrows, but since I didnā€™t add any color, you could identify them as any small bird.

There will be a couple more love birds in the article further down, but they were more fitting in another category!

Silly Chicken

For the next bird drawing idea, letā€™s focus on chickens!

I love drawing chickens because they can look super silly and cute, and I love silly drawings. This first one is of a chicken ready to eat some grains. Isnā€™t the big eye adorable? It makes it look extra silly, lol.

The second one is in a similar style but even simpler. You donā€™t need to draw the legs! You can make it even chubbier for extra cuteness if you want.

This one is the simplest chicken you can draw, really, but it still looks silly and cute. You can create many variations of this one because itā€™s so easy to draw!

Baby Birds

This baby bird is crying for food in the nest. Itā€™s an only child, but where are its parents? If you feel ambitious, you can try drawing a parent bird flying back with some food!

Next is a super simple and cute baby bird. As I always mention in nearly all my easy drawing idea articles, the easiest way to draw something when youā€™re struggling is to partly hide it. In this case, we hide the body inside the eggshell! And it still looks adorable!

One Line Birds

Now, letā€™s focus on one-line bird drawing ideas. One-line drawings have gained so much popularity over the years because they look so elegant and are relatively easy to draw.

Letā€™s start with the simplest ones: one-line hummingbirds! Seriously, it doesnā€™t get much easier than this.

Next up is something a bit more complicated, but just take your time! It doesnā€™t need to be 100% accurateā€”you can tweak and change the lines however you like, and it will still look good.

The next one is a one-line flying bird, viewed from the top. This one looks complicated but isnā€™t too difficult because itā€™s perfectly symmetrical.

Now, letā€™s draw some more flying birds, still using one-line techniques. I think this is the simplest one; it looks similar to the hummingbirds we saw earlier but is slightly more detailed.

This last one is a bit more intricate, with more curls and details!

Bird Silhouettes

This flock of birds flying across the sky is simple yet powerful. The solid black silhouettes create a timeless, elegant look that could be used for journal pages, tattoos, or even as a cute wallpaper idea!

Two tiny birds sit together in a cage, creating a cozy and romantic atmosphere. It’s another love birds drawing idea! It would be such a cute design for a Valentineā€™s Day card or a small decorative doodle in your planner!

This delicate sketch of a bird leaving an open cage is full of symbolism. It gives off a feeling of freedom, escape, and new beginnings. Whether you want to use it in a journal entry or a small tattoo design, it carries a beautiful meaning.

This is such a whimsical touch! The tiny trail left behind in the shape of a heart makes it feel like the bird is spreading love as it flies. Itā€™s such a dreamy and romantic little doodle. Perfect for adding to handwritten notes or cute messages.

This dramatic, bold sketch makes the bird look super powerful, doesn’t it? The dark silhouette contrasts beautifully against the light background, giving it a striking presence. It feels strong, confident, and free. Plus, it’s easy to recreate!

Chubby Birds

This round little chick looks like it’s about to roll around the page. Its small wings, tiny feet, and that adorable little puff on its head make it full of personality. If you love drawing kawaii-style animals, this is an easy and fun one to try!

This little round bird looks like itā€™s trying to flying with the biggest smile on its face. With its chubby body and tiny wings, it gives off the cutest carefree vibe. Honestly, it looks like it just achieved something amazing… maybe it finally learned how to fly! lol

This fluffy duck is just floating along, looking so content with life. The tiny sprout on its head adds an extra touch of cutenessā€”it almost looks like it’s growing a little plant! If you’re looking for a peaceful and calming drawing, this is definitely the one to try.

Origami-Style Bird

This geometric bird looks just like an origami paper crane! Made with sharp angles and folded shapes, it’s a great idea if you love minimalist, structured designs. It would look amazing as part of a tattoo or a simple line-art decoration!

Pigeon

A whole mood in one drawing. This pigeon has mastered the art of looking completely lost, with its big round eyes and those tiny, questioning question marks floating beside it. The simple lines make it easy to draw, yet it captures such a fun, relatable expression!

This simple but adorable drawing captures such a natural moment. Just a little pigeon picking at seeds. It’s a scene I see literally every single day. I’m a bit scared of pigeons to be honest, but they’re cute nonetheless.

Flamingo

This elegant flamingo is drawn with just a few curved lines, but it still carries all the grace of the real thing. The long, looping neck makes it feel extra stylishā€”this would look so good as a little tattoo or a minimalist decoration!

Bird House

This charming little birdhouse is the perfect home for a tiny bird! The heart-shaped opening adds an extra dose of cuteness. I can totally imagine this hanging from a tree, waiting for a little bird to make it its home.

And hereā€™s the lucky resident! A little bird peeks out from the heart-shaped entrance, looking as if it just woke up from a nap. This is such a warm and homey sketch, perfect for anyone who loves a cozy, rustic aesthetic.

Simple Bird

With its beak open wide and its little tail feathers fanned out, this bird looks like itā€™s singing its heart out! The long legs and tiny wings make it look so quirky and fun! Definitely an easy and adorable drawing to try.

Flying Doves

This little dove has such a peaceful, gentle expression! Its wings are spread wide, and it looks like itā€™s gliding effortlessly through the sky. Such a perfect doodle for representing peace, love, or a sense of calm.

Let’s draw the same dove in a slightly different flying position. The slightly rounded wings and smooth lines give it a friendly, peaceful vibe.

Sparkling Swan

A swan is already a symbol of elegance, but this one is extra special with the little sparkles around it! Its curved neck and smooth wings make it look so graceful. If you want to add a little magic to your drawings, this is a great idea!

Sleek Colibri

I guess you could say I felt creative with this hummingbird. I’m not sure what I wanted to achieve with the half shadow look, but you can change it however you want or make it a full silhouette! It would make a great tattoo design or decorative illustration.

Tall Bird

This tall, graceful bird has such a composed posture. Do you know what bird it is ? It’s supposed to represent a Black-necked Stilt. I didn’t know anything about this bird, but when I searched it up I found it was so cute yet elegant. It gives off a peaceful vibe.

Stains Birdies

Last one of this collection will be a bundle of tiny birds created on watercolor “stains”. To draw this kind of doodle, just paint a couple of random shapes, then give it a set of eyes, legs, and a beak. And it’s done!

I hope you enjoyed these bird drawing ideas and found something that inspires you to pick up a pencil and start drawing! Whether you prefer simple, cute birds or more elegant one-line designs, thereā€™s no right or wrong way to create art. Just have fun with it! šŸ¤
