Hello everyone! ❄️

As the weather -finally- cools down, I’m back with a festive collection of drawing ideas that will bring some cozy, winter magic to our sketchbooks. Winter is my favorite season ! (well, more like I hate summer, lol.) Whether you’re curled up by the fireplace or just looking for some creative ways to celebrate the season, these Christmas and winter-themed drawings are perfect for beginners!

You can draw them on winter / christmas cards, on letters you wanna offer to your loved ones, in your journal to illustrate the winter season, or anything you’d like! I hope you’ll like them. 🙂
In this post, we’ll explore a variety of simple and charming holiday designs – from snowflakes to stockings – that will capture the warmth and joy of the winter season. I’ll organize the drawings by categories so you can find what you’d like to draw easily. ♥
So, grab your pencils and let’s go! 🎄✨
Christmas Tree Drawing Ideas
Christmas Tree with Ornaments

This Christmas tree doodle is slightly more detailed, with decorative ornaments and tinsel wrapping around the tree. The star on top adds a finishing touch, making this drawing stand out.
Christmas Tree Step by Step Tutorial

We’re starting the Christmas Tree by drawing its base. We’ll need to draw 3 triangles on top of each other! Make sure you keep your lines light, as we will erase the overlapping lines later on.
- Start with the base triangle (and the biggest one).
- Slightly higher, draw another triangle. It should be a bit smaller than the first one!
- And lastly, draw another triangle a bit higher again. It’s the smallest of the three triangles.

Remember how I suggested you keep your lines light? Now is the moment it’s coming in handy : the time the erase the overlapping lines and refining some details.
We’re erasing the construction lines of our triangles, and making the bottom of the tree cute by fluffing it up a little bit. I would suggest you don’t press too hard on your pencil yet, as more refining is coming up!

When the lines are completely erased, it starts looking like a proper tree! It’s time to add the trunk. You can make it thick or thin, I prefer thick because I think it looks more cute.

Let’s add some garlands and make it look less like a random tree and more like a Christmas tree. 🙂

Now we’ll add the iconic star on the top of the tree, which will automatically make it feel Christmass-y~♥ This is the reason why I suggested you don’t press too hard on your pencil : we need to erase the top of the three for the star!
But if you pressed too hard already, you can make the top of the tree match the bottom of the star, and it’ll work without erasing anything 🙂

And we’re finishing up with some extra details: Christmas tree ornaments, and of course little stars and sprinkles around the tree to make it feel magic ♥ And that’s your cute and easy Christmas tree!
Christmas Tree with Candles

This classic Christmas tree is a must for the holiday season. The tree is adorned with tiny star decorations and surrounded by glowing candles, creating a cozy and warm holiday vibe.
Snowman Drawing Ideas
Is there a winter without snowmans? Well – if you don’t have much snow (or any), I agree, snowmans don’t exist. BUT! even then, you can draw them!
Snowman Step by Step Tutorial

Let’s start by drawing two circles on top of each other. They don’t need to be super neat, and they should be around the same size. Make sure you don’t press too hard on your pencil when you draw these, as we will erase some lines soon. 🙂

Then, in the middle of these circles, draw a little tube. It represents the scarf of the snowman. At this point, it looks like a messy overlap, but it will start to make sense when we erase the right line!

The only line you need to erase from this is the overlapping line coming from the bottom circle. So essentially, you’re erasing the top of the bottom circle. 🙂 And you have your snowman’s base!

Now we can add the face details and arms (or more if you want, like a little hat!) Here you can see the snowman waving at us. ♥

And of course the last step (for me at least) is too add little snowflakes, sparkles and stars flying around. It’s my favorite part of any doodle~
Simple Snowman

Here is another snowman! Its scarf is way thicker than the last one, and it has slightly more details (and one more snowball!) Its simple shape and happy expression make it easy to draw, yet it captures the joy of building snowmen during the holiday season.
Cute Snowman

Isn’t this a cute snowman ? It almost looks like it’s gonna start walking asking for a hug.
Santa Drawing Ideas
Who says Christmas, says Santa! Let’s draw Santa next 🙂
Santa’s Face

Nothing says Christmas like Santa Claus! This drawing captures Santa’s iconic face, complete with his fluffy beard and jolly expression. Surrounded by snowflakes, this doodle has a whimsical feel that’s perfect for any Christmas card or holiday decoration. It’s an easy and fun way to bring the holiday spirit into your art!
Full Santa Claus

Here, we have a full-body Santa Claus, complete with his iconic red suit and black boots. His friendly stance makes this doodle an adorable addition to any Christmas-themed project. This simple drawing is perfect for beginners who want to capture Santa’s charm with minimal details but maximum holiday spirit!
Another Santa

This simple yet adorable Santa doodle captures his cheerful expression and classic holiday look. This doodle of Santa is definitely my favorite !
Santa Letter

Who wants to write a letter to Santa? Well, I’m too old for this – but who knows. 🙂
Santa / Reindeer Hat

Let’s continue with a cute santa / reindeer hat. I would say it looks more like a reindeer hat, because it doesn’t really have the shape of a santa hat, but you can tweak that if you want!
Reindeer Drawing Ideas
Okay so speaking of reindeer with the last Santa drawing idea… let’s actually tackle reindeer drawing ideas! It’s the perfect winter / xmas drawing in my opinion ♥
Chubby Reindeer

Here’s our first Reindeer drawing idea! It’s actually really simple to reproduce because there are not many details. Just draw an uneven circle, then add a few details, and you’re done, lol.
Cute Reindeer Face

This adorable reindeer doodle is surrounded by stars and a jingle bell, bringing the festive spirit to life. It’s a little more complex, but still relatively easy if you take the time. The simple lines make it a quick and easy drawing, but the holiday elements add a playful twist.
Reindeer Santa

This cute one combines the playful elements of Santa and a reindeer, creating an adorable hybrid character. With Santa’s hat and the reindeer’s antlers, this drawing is both unique and festive. The soft, colored details give it an extra cozy feel, making it perfect for adding some holiday cheer to your drawings!
Reindeer Snowman

Another idea is to do a mix between snowman and reindeer! Isn’t it cute ?
Rudolph the Reindeer

This adorable drawing of Rudolph the Reindeer features his signature red nose and a cozy scarf. The simple lines and pops of red make it a charming holiday doodle for anyone who loves Rudolph’s classic character.
Reindeer with Santa’s Sleigh

And the last reindeer for today, a cute little reindeer with Santa’s sleigh! If you’re feeling up to a challenge, it has some simple lines even though it looks complex. 🙂 You should really take it step by step!
Christmas Decorations Drawing Ideas
Christmas Stamp

If you want to decorate your letters, you can also draw Christmas stamps ! It’s not as easy as having an actual Christmas stamp or buying one, but it’s cheaper, and it doesn’t take that much time ! There are tons of designs you can think of, but here’s one that I like. 🙂

here’s another one – more simple and cute in my opinion!
Christmas Stockings

Two festive stockings hang side by side, each with its own design. One stocking is decorated with stars, while the other features tiny Christmas trees. You can play around with the patterns!
Jingle Bells with Bow

Two festive jingle bells tied together with a beautiful bow and a star above. This elegant holiday doodle is surrounded by tiny stars, making it a delightful drawing for holiday decorations or greeting cards.
Door Ornament

If you’re writing / decorating a Christmas card, I think this drawing idea is perfect. You can use it for the front of a card, with a couple more doodles around it or a Christmas writing under it. It will look so pretty!
Ornament with Candles

This festive ornament contains two small candles inside, adding a warm and cozy touch to the drawing. The simple design of the candles surrounded by a glass ornament makes it a lovely, peaceful holiday doodle.
Wrapped Gifts

Here we have two neatly wrapped gifts, each with a big, decorative bow. Aren’t they cute with the little stars, hearts, and dots floating around ? The simple design leaves room for creativity with the patterns and details you can add to each gift box.
Christmas Ornaments

This is another nice idea for a Christmas card ! You need to draw these from the top of your paper, so it looks like it’s hanging on the top of your paper, simply decorating your note or journal. Isn’t it cute ?!
Grumpy Christmas Cat

Another version of the “door ornament” I just introduced, it’s even funnier ! If you’re writing to someone who loves cats, or someones who’s a little grumpy (or if you are often grumpy), this can be super fun to draw !
hristmas Sock

More simple, and classic, let’s go back to a Christmas sock ! This one is a little more complicated than the other ones in this list !
Christmas Food Drawing Ideas
Gingerbread Friends

These cute gingerbread figures are perfect for holiday-themed doodles. One is a traditional gingerbread man, and the other is decorated with a top hat and scarf. This pair of sweet characters will bring some playful fun to your drawings, especially if you love decorating cookies!
Candy Canes

What’s Christmas without candy canes? These two striped candy canes, one with a cute bow, are a festive and fun addition to any holiday drawing collection. The bold stripes and whimsical look make this an easy and playful doodle to try.
Christmas Gingerbread

Hungry for some Christmas treats ? This is the perfect doodle for that ! I love gingerbreads, they’re just so cute. This one is a little more complicated than the two we discovered earlier, but take your time, you can do it ! 🙂
Winter Drawing Ideas
Icy Blue Snowflake

Snowflakes are a perfect addition to any winter drawing. I made a big one (and a bit more complex), but they come in various shapes ! It’s the perfect design to bring a cool, wintery feel to your holiday sketchbook!
Simple Snow Globe

A minimalist take on a snow globe. With simple lines and a clean design, this drawing evokes the quiet beauty of a snow-filled landscape.
Snowman in a Globe

This time, I drew a snowglobe with a more complicated design. As you can see, you can turn a snow globe into anything you want really quickly ! You can draw a snowman, Santa, a reindeer, or anything you think of.
Cozy Penguin

This adorable penguin is all bundled up in a scarf, making it a cute and wintery addition to your doodles. Its round body and sweet face make this drawing both fun and easy to create. Whether you’re drawing it for a holiday card or just for fun, this cozy little penguin will warm your heart!

And another penguin! I love penguins, they’re just too cute for words. And I love the way they live, too. ♥
Winter Landscape Ornament

This winter ornament design captures the peaceful beauty of a snowy landscape.
Winter Dividers

These delicate dividers feature stars, snowflakes, and holly, making them perfect for adding decorative touches to your holiday cards or drawings. If you like journaling, it’s also a nice addition to your winter entries !
Snowy Cabin

Capture the cozy, peaceful feel of winter with this snow-covered cabin nestled among trees. The small details of falling snow and the smoke from the chimney add a homey touch, making this drawing perfect for those looking to create a serene winter scene in their sketchbooks.
Truck with Christmas Tree

That’s also such a classic scene, but much harder to draw. If you have more time on your hands, this is a super nice Christmas drawing idea though!
Winter Hot Mug

Let’s wrap up with a warm drink~ isn’t it the best when you can stay home with a warm hot chocolate (or any drink you like) while playing a game, reading a book, drawing or any other hobby of yours? Personally, it’s my favorite time ♥
Wrap Up
And that’s it for these winter and Christmas drawing ideas !
They are a perfect way to add a little holiday cheer to your sketchbook. Whether you’re drawing festive ornaments, cozy winter scenes, or playful reindeer, each idea brings its own special charm to the season.
