This cozy collection of more than 40 easy anime girl drawing ideas is perfect for beginners and anyone looking for some inspiration. You’ll find all kinds of prompts: magical outfits, expressive poses, sleepy moods, and cute chibi styles. These ideas are simple, fun, and a great way to build confidence in your sketching.
Grab your pencil, cozy up your space, and let’s draw some cute anime girls together ♥
Simple Anime Girl
Let’s start with some relatively simple girl drawing ideas!

I love this one because it’s so simple, but has that little bit of mystery to it. Is she confused? Bored? Deep in thought? You decide. The big black eyes and straight-cut bangs are very anime, and it’s easy enough to draw even if you’re just starting out.

This is a super classic anime look – straightforward and simple. Round eyes, soft expression, black hair neatly framed. It’s a good one for practicing symmetry and eye placement. Also a nice go-to base if you want to add your own twist with accessories or expressions!

Maybe you already know this one? She’s part of my aesthetic girls series! She’s got attitude~ The short hair, oversized jacket, and little sparkles say “I’ve got this.” Check my article to see more like this one ♥
Cute Chibi Girls
I’ve already written an article about chibi girls, and I invite you to read it if you’re interested in them. But I’ve drawn a couple of chibis for this collection as well! A little more complex than the one in the other article. 🙂
Chibi Girl Step by Step

From a blank base to an adorable chibi character with pigtails, this one is so helpful. You can really see the transformation with just a few simple lines. If you’re just starting out, try copying the base first!
Chibi Sakura

This one is a cute Card Captor Sakura chibi, that you can find in this collection. ♥ She’s dressed in her classic magical girl outfit with a puffy hat, bow, and her iconic wand. Isn’t it cute? And you don’t even need to know how to draw hands or feets to draw this kind of chibi!
Dancing Chibi

This one is just pure joy! Look at that pose: arms in the air, one leg up, like she just nailed her dance routine. It’s super simple and super cute. It’s a bit of a more complex chibi. You could draw this in your journal when you’re feeling extra happy or excited about something.
Anime Girls Doing V Sign
Strawberry Crop Top

This is one of those “selfie mood” poses (and full of confidence). That cheeky wink, the peace sign, the little strawberry on the shirt.. it’s bubbly, cute, and full of charm. Easy to draw too, with big hair and bold shapes! The hand on the left could be drawn better though, but well – good enough!
School Girl

A classic anime look! The peace sign, the school uniform, the happy smile. This girl looks like she just started school again. Super fun to draw♥ Very beginner-friendly, too.
Anime Girl Waving
Witch Waving

I love this one so much. A cheerful little witch waving at you mid-flight. The hat, the boots, the floating vibe… it’s straight out of a Kiki’s Delivery Service. (if you know, you know) Try this one for something fun and witchy!
Happy Girl Waving

Waving right at you! This is one of those drawings that feels like a warm hello. The round face, tiny legs, and hearts make it extra sweet. Very beginner-friendly and easy to customize with your own style. Ah and if you’re wondering what the heck she’s doing with her second hand, it’s a “V” sign. But you can change it if you don’t like it!
Anime Child (Girl)
I wanted to show how I draw younger girls – even though all the girls in my drawings are young; so let me show you two examples.
Simply Standing

The first one looks like a chibi, but it’s meant to be a child. Actually, the proportions of chibi can make them look like children quite easily. The oversized clothes also gives the impression that the girl’s size is small, so it can represent a child.
Hugging Teddybear

It’s not super easy to show a young age unless the child is really young (talk infant like babies). So to represent children, you can also draw them with toys or plushies. This girl does look like she’s a bit younger, doesn’t she?
Magical Girls
I also wanted to draw a couple of magical girls, because I just love them. I show you a cheerful witch waving earlier, as well as Sakura, but let’s discover a couple more.
Sakura

A cute drawing of a magical girl with twin ponytails. Can you guess who she is? Yes- it’s Sakura, again. Her expression is calm and dreamy, fitting for a cosmic magical girl character. You can make her your own by just tweaking the colors ♥
Magical Transformation

This one screams magical girl anime. Like, full transformation sequence with sparkles flying everywhere. (well, imagine it animated and you’ll see what i mean;;) The wand, the pose, the cute outfit. It’s so classic! Drawing this is a bit more detailed because of the outfit, but totally worth it if you love Sailor Moon vibes. Add your own magic sparkles around her!
Girl’s Magic

This one is one of my favorites of this collection. I wish I also tried a version of her with long hair, to see what it looks like. She looks like she’s casting a spell without a wand. I love how calm it feels. You could draw this when you want to relax. It’s simple, soft, and surrounded by little stars, as always ♥
Ah and if you’re wondering – the “thick” finger in the middle gathers both fingers. A lot of artists then to draw hands like this, and I wanted to give it a try for this collection as well~
Healer Girl

This one is quite a complex but cute one. It’s a girl taking care of a bird looking creature. When drawing this, I was imagining she’s healing the creature with inner magic. Ah and also, imagine she’s living in the woods. But well, you can make up the story you want ♥
Tired Anime Girls
Girl Tired of Reading

A cozy and sleepy anime girl stretching with both arms up while sitting cross-legged with an open book on her lap. She’s tired of reading – or studying. This pose is great for drawing laid-back, lazy-day vibes or a study break moment.
Girl Yawning & Stretching

This is peak sleepy energy. She’s still in her comfy shorts, arms reaching all the way up like she’s waking up on a lazy Sunday. That little yawn? Too cute. Great to draw when you want something cozy and full of personality, without needing many details.
Sipping Coffee

Okay, this one is pure cozy vibes. She’s sipping tea, half-awake, wearing a thick knit. (Same.) The sleepy eyes and hand around the mug make it feel like a weekend morning. It’s a great drawing to try when you’re chilling out.
Exhausted Girl

We all know this face. That “I need sleep but I also have 12 things to do” face. This one’s very beginner-friendly too! simple lines, minimal details, and lots of personality. It’s more simple than the other tired girls above, so maybe it’s worth a try if the others are too difficult!
Anime Girl Profile

I love profile drawings like this. There’s something so peaceful about it. eyes closed, soft expression. It’s a really clean, calm style that’s also great practice for drawing necks and shoulders. Try it when you want to draw something a little more elegant and quiet.

She’s got that cool, confident look like she knows something you don’t. (or maybe she just hates you, who knows) The deep black silhouette makes it feel super bold and stylish. Great for when you’re in the mood for something minimal but expressive.
Happy Anime Girls
We’ve already discovered quite a couple of happy anime girls in this collection, but let’s check out a couple more!

This one is 100% my favorite of this collection. It gives off a Ghibli vibe, doesn’t it? Pure happiness! She looks like she just won something, or maybe she’s watching fireworks? Her eyes closed, arms open wide, sparkles everywhere. It’s a fun, uplifting drawing that’s also quite simple to try.

This girl looks like she just got great news and is running to tell someone. Her side ponytail is bouncing, and that big smile says it all. This one has motion and energy, which makes it super fun to draw when you want something happy and light.

This one feels straight out of another magical girl show. ♥ The giant swooshy ponytail and little heart floating beside her give it such a happy, sparkly energy. It’s full of personality yet super easy to draw. Just a couple of lines!
Full Body Girls
Energetic Girl

I’m not the best at drawing ponytails – so let’s ignore that, okay? In any case, that’s a cute full body anime girl drawing idea you can try if you’re looking for a challenge.
Casual Girl

This one is more simple, I really limited the details (even the hand is the simplest one you can think of). The short bob, comfy tee, and sneakers make her feel very down-to-earth. If you’re practicing full-body proportions, this is a great beginner template.
Minimal Tall Girl

This one’s really clean and stylish. The figure is long and sleek, with a short bob haircut and simple clothes. It gives off a kind of artsy, quiet mood. Definitely nice if you want to try a more minimalist vibe.
Step by Step Anime Girl

Okay this one is like a mini how-to! You can see how the drawing builds up step by step, ending with a cute little elf girl in a pink outfit. This is fun if you want to practice from scratch – or just color in the final look! Take the template (silhouette) and draw her however you like. 🙂
Anime Girl Journaling

This one’s for the studious types (or maybe just fellow journal lovers like me). I love how she looks focused and serious with her glasses and book. And that little clip in her hair? Isn’t it adorable? Perfect for practicing poses with props like pens or books.
Dreamy Sleepy Girl

She looks like she’s drifting in thought… or just really needs a nap. I love how soft and slow this one feels. Almost melancholic? Her eyes are half-closed and the lashes are long and fluttery. The eyes are a bit more detailed than the others but still beginner-friendly if you take your time. Great for moody sketchbook pages.
Girl Behind the Wall

This one’s so fun! And easy to draw if you’re not experienced, because most of the actual face is hidden behind the wall! It looks like a character in the middle of an action scene, peeking through a shattered portal or maybe escaping from something mysterious. It’s great to sketch during classes in my opinion. People will definitely think it’s super cool, hehe.
Thoughtful Girl

The pose says it all – she’s in her own world, maybe thinking about life or what to eat for dinner (same). Her long black hair really pops here! It’s one of those expressive drawings that looks simple but has so much feeling. Easy to sketch, but you’ll want to spend a bit of time on the hair.
Afro Hair Girl

I wanted to try my hand at drawing different hair textures as well! I’m really not experienced in that, but I tried my best. I received in the past comments asking me to draw “black girls”, but I had never tried to draw curls before. It’s quite tricky, but manageable when you turn it into plain color. With time, I’ll probably get better!
Curly Hair Girl

And this one is another one! She looks extra cute, doesn’t she? I really like how expressive the pose is, even though it’s simple. A great one to play with body language!
Sad Girl

The expression says it all: she’s feeling sad. Or maybe ashamed? This look on her face could mean a lot of different things, but it’s up to you to choose the story for her. I love her braids, even though I don’t have much experience drawing braids lol
Girl Eating

Do you know “pain au chocolat”? Well, that’s what this girl is eating. Big hoodie, fluffy socks, and a wink to top it off. This one’s so cute to draw in fall or winter, especially for warm-up sketches.
Anime Girl Walking

She’s out and about, probably heading to a café or bookstore. The way she holds her backpack strap is super casual and cute. This drawing is simple and balanced, perfect for practicing full-body poses and movement!
Soft Anime Girl

This one is just adorable. The flowy hair, gentle smile, and cute top with straps make her look like a sweetheart. It feels like a character you’d meet in a slice-of-life anime. Simple lines, cozy feeling.

Another soft girl ♥ She’s holding her phone, but you can tell her mind is somewhere else. That soft dress and long flowing hair make her look gentle and daydreamy. A nice one to draw when you’re in a quiet mood.
Determined Girl

She looks like the kind of character who’s always top of her class and ready to fight for what’s right, lol. Her school uniform and strong expression give it a real “main character energy.” The details are low, but you can add as many as you want!
Girl Looking Back

By now, you can probably tell how much I like playing with black and white, as well as negative spaces. And here’s another one! This one has mystery written all over it. Her head’s turned slightly, almost like she heard something. The bold black bob really makes her stand out.
Wrap Up
I hope these anime girl drawing ideas inspired you and gave you fun new ways to practice! Drawing in an anime style is all about expressing emotion, playing with proportions, and letting your personality shine through the lines.
Remember: it’s okay to make mistakes, take your time, and explore different styles. With every sketch, you’re improving. Whether you love magical girl vibes or quiet cozy moments, keep drawing what brings you joy.
