Hello everybody! Once again, I’m back with some new drawing ideas. I just published a post about “Cute and Easy Butterfly Drawing Ideas“, but now we’re checking some more aesthetic butterfly drawing ideas. (or at least, what I see as aesthetic) 🙂
I think you can make aesthetic doodles of Butterflies quite easily once you know how to doodle one. I’ve tried to include a variety of them, feel free to take inspiration from any of them.
I hope you can find some nice ideas for your next aesthetic butterfly doodles amongst these. 🙂
Materials
- Use a pencil and an eraser to sketch your doodle first
- Then go over your initial sketch with an ink pen of your choice
- When the ink has dried out, erase the sketch under it
- Done!
1. Two Butterflies
Two butterflies flying around together, wandering from flower to flower… This butterfly drawing idea is easy, and we already saw in “23 Cute and Easy Butterfly Drawing Ideas“ the easy form of this one. (number 12 of the other article!)
2. Aesthetic Butterfly’s Profile
This butterfly is simple, but I added a lot of little decorations (strokes, stars, dots) to make it more aesthetic. I would advise to draw with a pencil first if you decide to draw a star inside the butterfly like I did here! 🙂
3. Butterfly With Beautiful Pattern
This time, I worked on the pattern of the wings. When I was a child, I kept thinking that some butterflies’ wings really looked like eyes. It was so pretty, and sometimes a little scary.
To draw a butterfly like this, start with a simple “empty” butterfly, without the pattern in the wings. When you’re satisfied with the shape you’ve given the wings, you can start drawing the pattern you want. Don’t make it too complicated, because you’re supposed to be able to draw the same pattern on both sides!
4. Simple Butterfly Profile
Look at this butterfly! Isn’t it cute? I really like the little head on the thin body with the short antennas. You can draw any pattern you want in the wings. Butterflies are so fun to draw 🙂 This way, you can give them different vibe. From cute to whimsical, to mysterious.
5. Butterfly on Hand
Drawing a hand isn’t easy, right ? But there’s something about hands. For me, it makes a drawing very aesthetically pleasing to see a hand reaching out to something. If you can’t draw the hand, you can also skip it and replace it with a flower, for example!
6. Butterfly Flying Away
A cute butterfly flying away. This one is very simple to draw. The body of the butterfly on this doodle is very lean and long, and there aren’t many details brought to it.
7. Simple Butterfly
First, a very simple doodle of a butterfly’s front view.
As we learned with “23 Cute and Easy Butterfly Drawing Ideas“, we can easily go from this view to a profile view. I did it for this butterfly as well!
8. Negative Space Butterfly
I love working with negative space when I doodle. Working with negative space means that you leave some space without color to detail the shape you’re drawing. Here, I left blank space in the wings to bring details.
9. Perfectly Symmetrical Butterfly
Another front view of a butterfly. Here, I worked on perfect symmetry. Butterflies are symmetrical insects, which makes them so interesting to observe. Making a symmetrical drawing is not always easy. But if you’re drawing on squared paper, it’s easier!
10. Aesthetic Butterfly with Big Wings
Another flying butterfly. This one has very big wings compared to its body!
11. A Girl With a Butterfly
You can also work on making characters with very simple and aesthetic lines. Here, I drew a girl with a few lines. Then, I drew the butterfly. Even though there is not much details brought into the drawing, you can easily recognize the girl and the butterfly.
12. Butterfly Wandering
Another flying butterfly. It seems like he’s looking for a new flower to fly around… What do you think ? 🙂 I love drawing butterflies in this position!
13. Three Butterflies and Stars
Of course, you can also draw many butterflies together in an aesthetic way.
14. Girl Surrounded by Butterflies
Another girl with butterflies! But this time, the girl is surrounded by butterflies. They are very big in size compared to her, but she’s not scared. It feels like she’s dreaming about them to me.
15. Small Butterfly
Yet another butterfly from the front view. Adding stars and little dots make it more aesthetic in my opinion. Even if the doodle is simple, you can bring this aesthetic vibe with these little decorations.
16. Butterfly Top View
Probably my favorite view of a butterfly! Here, we see the butterfly from the top, but not completely. The perspective is not the easiest to draw, because the wings aren’t similar in size when you draw it this way. But it also means that a mistake in the symmetry can be hidden easily! 🙂
