How to Draw a Rose

Let’s start by drawing the most popular of all the flowers: the rose!
Starting by a heart shape for a not fully bloomed rose is perfect! It will give a very nice outline for the outside petals of the rose. The drawing itself is only made by simple lines and shapes, so you’ll get to draw the rose in no time♥

Let’s draw another rose, viewed from the top this time! Also, it has fully bloomed. Drawing a rose on base of a circle is easier than it looks.
- Start by drawing a circle
- Inside the circle, draw a twirl. The more circles in the twirl, the more complex your rose will be.
- Draw a little heart at the center of the twirl. It’s the heart of the rose.
- Around it, start drawing petals by following the twirl and circle you’ve drawn. The closer to the heart you are, the smaller the petals are. Do not draw the petals too regular! A rose is organic and shouldn’t be too perfect. ♥
- You can then color it however you like. Isn’t it super cute?

And here is another guide for yet another rose. This one is blooming, but has not fully opened yet. I believe with these three guides you have a solid foundation to draw roses in other positions as well. Just deconstruc the rose and draw simple shapes.

How to Draw an Hydrangea

Here is the easy version to draw an hydrangea. When you draw many of them next to each other, it’ll look super cute! But if you’re looking for something a little more realistic, it’s just here:

This will give you a more realistic while staying stylized and cute hydrangea. Plus, it’s actually super easy! It just takes time to draw all the flowers separately. If you’re drawing on tablet though, you can just duplicate the flowers and make them more organic when you draw the final version. If you’re on paper, don’t press too hard on your pencil, so you can erase the extra lines when you’re done!
