Simulation games have always held a special place in the hearts of many cozy gamers. They offer a break from reality by letting us step into worlds we create and control. From building dream cities to managing quirky businesses and even tending to virtual farms, these games have been a favorite since the early days of gaming. They give us a sense of control, creativity, and calm that is hard to find elsewhere. Every decision you make, no matter how small, adds a touch of satisfaction to your day. I’ve personally always loved them.

And nowadays, our phones are always by our side. So.. don’t they make perfect companions when you need a quick escape to chill? With a tap, you can dive into a cozy simulation game that transforms even a short break into a mini adventure. The convenience of having a complete gaming world in your pocket makes it easy to turn idle moments into a fun and relaxing experience!

Also : I want to mention that I won’t be covering games exclusive to Apple Arcade in this list. If you’re interested in the best cozy games from Apple Arcade, feel free to check out my other article. It doesn’t list only simulation games, but some of them are!

Anyway, let’s dive into today’s article!
Stardew Valley

Stardew Valley on mobile lets you escape into a cozy farm life where you inherit your grandpa’s old plot. You’ll plant crops, raise animals, and meet quirky locals with plenty of stories to share. The touch controls feel smooth and there’s even Bluetooth controller support if that’s your thing. While the online multiplayer isn’t available here, the game’s endless activities make it worth the $4.99 price tag. It’s also included in Google Play Pass.

Graveyard Keeper

Graveyard Keeper drops you into a quirky medieval world where you run your very own graveyard. It might not sound too cozy when you read these words, but trust me, it is! You’ll craft tools, decorate your space, and manage everything from burying bodies to burning them, all while earning the trust of the local townsfolk. The game’s research system keeps you busy by letting you collect materials to unlock cool upgrades. It comes at $9.99, with an extra $0.99 “Breaking Dead” DLC for a fun zombie twist. So if you think you can handle the darker theme with cozy vibes, go for it!

Growing Up: Life of the ‘90s

Step into a blast-from-the-past adventure where you live out 18 years in the ‘90s. This game puts you in the shoes of a kid growing up in an ordinary American family. You get to shape every part of your life: from learning new skills and making friends to even finding that special someone. With a strong focus on strategy, you’re not just making life decisions but leveling up your character through education and clever choices, unlocking different endings along the way. Honestly, I love this game, and nobody talks about it!
Platforms: Android ($4.99) – iOS ($4.99)
Animal Crossing Pocket Camp

Animal Crossing Pocket Camp is the ultimate cozy escape on your phone. (in my opinion anyway) It’s loaded with adorable collectibles and charming animal pals that turn every session into a heartwarming break. With a one-time purchase, you unlock tons of content that brings stress-free joy to even the dreariest days. Plus, the game runs smoothly without overheating your device, keeping all those gorgeous details crisp and fun. It comes at a higher price point, but definitely worth it in my opinion.
A Normal Lost Phone

Immerse yourself in this unique interactive story told entirely through a lost phone. You’ll sift through texts, emails, and pictures to uncover clues about its owner, all while experiencing a deep, thought-provoking narrative that explores real-life teenage emotions. The story is pretty straightforward, but the intriguing puzzles (like unlocking passwords and discovering secrets) keep you hooked. Its partly hand-drawn art and perfectly matched soundtrack add a distinct, immersive charm.

Goat Simulator 3

Get ready for a wildly funny adventure in Goat Simulator 3, where you control a goat (and even other animals) to wreak hilarious havoc. The game is packed with pop-culture nods, hidden surprises, and even a co-op mode so you can share the chaos with friends. While the touch controls work fine, you might prefer a controller for extra precision. With a one-time price of $12.99 and no ads or in-app purchases, it’s definitely worth it for many hours of fun. It’s not traditional cozy, but being a goat is just cozy in itself, isn’t it?
Pocket City 2

Pocket City 2 is a great city builder without any annoying ads or in-app purchases. You get to design your own city by placing buildings, laying down roads, and keeping your citizens happy. What sets it apart is the option to roam around in a third-person view, letting you jump into fun minigames like street racing or even helicopter flying. If you like city builders with a touch of fun through mini games, I definitely recommend this one! And the price is relatively low considering the quality of the game!
Little Village

Little Village offers a peaceful colony management experience where you start with a single settler and build a thriving community. You assign tasks like chopping wood, planting crops, cooking food, and building houses, all while boosting your villagers’ happiness. The game keeps things calm with no enemies to worry about, though once you hit the upgrade limits, the replay value can drop a bit. It’s free on Android, with the option to double your speed for 10 minutes via ads or a one-time $4.99 purchase to unlock it permanently. I haven’t found it on the AppStore, so I’m not sure if it’s available on IOS.
Harvest Town

Harvest Town brings a charming farming adventure right to your phone. You’ll be busy growing crops, raising animals, mining, fishing, and even racing horses. It’s really similar to Stardew Valley mobile, but free! The game offers fun multiplayer races and trading, too. The story is sweet and mysterious. And the best part? As I said, it’s free! Both Android and iOS offer the game at no cost with ads and cosmetic in-app purchases that don’t block your progress.
Good Pizza, Great Pizza

Good Pizza, Great Pizza puts you in charge of your very own pizzeria. You roll out the dough, spread on the sauce and cheese, and add the toppings just right…all in real time! Your speed and precision earn you tips to upgrade your restaurant. Along the way, you’ll face wild orders, quirky rival pizzerias, and random events that spice things up. The cute hand-drawn art and relaxing tunes make it a feast for the senses. It’s free to play on both platforms, with ads and premium currency available for those extra tweaks. It’s a favorite of many people!
Little Inferno

Little Inferno is a quirky game that lets you set a bunch of random items on fire. (It’s random, but quite fun!) You earn coins by burning toys and other objects, and combining certain items unlocks neat achievements. Despite its simple, almost playful gameplay, there’s a deeper, thought-provoking story hiding beneath the flames. With its unique art style and a great sense of humor, this game offers a one-of-a-kind experience that stands out from the crowd.
Townscaper

Townscaper is a unique, chill 3D sandbox where you simply tap to create roads, bridges, and houses, transforming a blank ocean into a lively city. There’s no set goal. Just enjoy the magic of watching your town grow. You can mix and match colors and styles to give each building its own flair. Though it might feel a bit repetitive at times, it’s a cozy, creative outlet for fans of relaxing simulation games. And if you like this kind of game, you can read this article to find more! ♥

Game Dev Story

Game Dev Story puts you in charge of your own video game company. Starting with a small team and simple games, you build your business, hire more staff, and even work on your own game console. Every decision (from what games to create to how to advertise) matters as you try to make the most of a tight budget. It’s an addictive and fun simulation that’s full of charm. If you like management games, this one is for you! You can grab it for Android at $4.49 or iOS at $4.99, though it often goes on sale.

Papers, Please

Step into the shoes of an immigration officer in Papers, Please. At first, you’re just checking passports and following a simple rulebook, but as more regulations pile up, the challenge quickly ramps up. Every decision matters! Mistakes can cost you pay cuts while you struggle to support your family. This indie gem blends puzzle-solving with simulation in a way that’s both engaging and nerve-wracking (which doesn’t sound super cozy when I say it this way…). I would suggest you start by watching some gameplay to see if it would be a stressful game for you or not before trying it yourself! For me, it’s definitely a great cozy game, but we all are different. 🙂
